Our Philosophy:

Learning to ride a horse can be one of the most thrilling experiences of your life, as long as you do it safely. The payoff lies not only in the freedom of galloping across a field on the back of an animal, but also in the wondrous bond between human and horse.


Horses are intelligent creatures that must be handled properly, for the safety of both the rider and the horse. At Bear Gap Riding Center we will make your first horseback riding experience safe, fun, and rewarding.

On 9/11/03 I received The Gift Of Life, a heart transplant. Now at 65 and still alive I strive to keep healthy and active. Bear Gap Riding Center enables me to achieve this goal by learning to ride safely and properly. As I learn to care for the horses and ride it is an exhilarating experience and enjoyable exercise.

Thanks for everything. Calista loves her lessons with you. I wish my work schedule would allow me to bring her more. Just to let you know, she went home after her lesson on Sunday and rode Comet. She was jumping with him and applying what you had taught her that day. I love to watch her. She has such a love for riding. Her face says it all.
